After seeing how much Steve's thread has grown I figured I should create my own instead of creating new posts every time I do a shoot.
I don't do much these days, but am planning on getting back into it, hopefully
posting lots in the months to come :) Cheers guys

For some reason I didn't see the photo earlier today. I like it even though I'm not very fond of these strong tilted angles. I think it's nicely balanced shot. What kind of lens you used ?

hey, thanks timo For that shot I used my 50mm zuiko digital f2.0, probably now and forever my favorite lens in the world!
Anyway. Big news! no, I didn't get the 5dmk2 i've been lusting after or the new olympus pen digital, which I am now also lusting after!
But I did just get a new zuiko 50-200mm f2.8-3.5 swd lens!!! on the E-3 the focus speed is blisteringly fast, faster than anything I've ever seen or used, and apparently only slightly slower than the 12-60mm swd which ranks on the E-3 as the fastest auto focusing lens ever!
With an equiv focus length of 100-400, it is brighter and sharper not to mention more compact than the canon L equivalent, so I hope I can get some good use out of it (though my arm still gets saw after a while holding it). I plan on using it for sport but will probably need to get a telli converter as i feel it still isn't long enough! :(
here are a couple of images I've taken just playing around this arvo, nothing special. One thing I noticed is that the images are really really contrasty out of the camera, I guess this is a good thing... Oh and apart from the 50mm this is now the only other splash proof lens I own (pretty heavily water proof), so expect some photos in the rain! :)
hope you guys like these couple of shots, there will be a lot more to come :)

my girlfriends family pet, seriously =P

Cheers

Nice shots Bobby !
"...I used my 50mm zuiko digital f2.0, probably now and forever my favorite lens in the world..." I know the feeling. I just came back from Thailand and although I had with me few lenses - I ended up using my Canon 50mm F/1.4 on 95 % of the shots.

some new pics took all except the bird one today all taken with E-3 and 50-200mm zuiko
I really want to be able to get behind the baricades out at the local track, I guess I need to get a permit somehow... dunno
I was only there for about 15-20mins and had almost no good place to shoot from and pan images are impossible when one hand is folding down a fence :( But I tried while all the official photographers happily snapped away from the other side, but only after making the point that i wasn't allowed to join then, I refrained from making the point that I could have taken their cameras and smashed their bloody heads in with them.... anger problem I know.....
Cheers guys C&C appreciated :)

Thanks steve I remember when you got your first 70-200mm years back! it was about the same time I got my first dslr.... it has taken me this long to get a high quality 200mm lens! lol screw that 18yo kid with his 20k worth of gear..... :S
I might be slightly drunk.... which only makes typing without a space bar that much harder! (gf kocked water on it, though beer thever seemed tro effect it, it died. now using ctrl-v to paste a space every word =P

Hey Here are some more shots from the weekend, woke up with a dreadful hangover on sunday just to get dragged out by the gf's family to photograph the football. Personally I'm as interested in the game as watching paint dry, but I enjoyed shooting it and plan on doing so regularly. Still, it was a bit weird. outside of the family and a few mates I used to play poker with, I don't have many friends down here. In fact, I've gotten into bar mights with quite a few of these guys, including putting the captain of the team in red through a table, that didn't work out so great. (turns out I can't fight a entire football team by myself)
Hope you like em :)

Cheers
