Authentication works (logon, logout, get refresh token). Still need to find a proper way to make getting refresh tokens transparant, but i will take that up when i have some actual authenticated calls.

Next steps:
- adding the post/reply/edit functionality
- adding image uploads to the above

Still need to figure out what type of text editing im going to use. I like medium.js:

But it also has drawbacks ... and people know UBB. Im leaning towards UBB code to get up and running faster, and then do an A/B test with medium.js afterwards.

Now I know how random people at the pub must feel when overhearing some of the conversations I have with my CG pals.

So yeah... what Nik said.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with though! :)

oh, interesting! I'll have to do a project using Django, Angular and Bootstrap at work soon. And all of that is new to me. What are you creating the backend in, all javascript?

never get low & slow & out of ideas

if you are starting with the webapi, here I took a course of .NET in my university last year and for my project I made a .NET WebAPI and MVC with AngularJS and Parse (Parse is a back end service that provides a database and cloud computing as a service)

anyways I am sure you can get some pointers out of it :)

by the beginning of the .net course I was all like " Oh look, it has changed for the better, now it is really easy to use, looks like it works well. I think I might start using ASP, why not? "
and by the end of the year I was like " Well... it is still shit, but at least I confirmed it.. I will stick with nodeJS"

As much as i love javascript at the clientside, i've glanced at nodejs, but i dont see what it would do better than c#/webapi.

its way more lightweight, serves content faster, handles asynchronous events better,
(though having await in C# is pretty cool){and by better I mean that you have more control over what is going and how it is going}, requires less configuration, its event driven which aligns perfectly with anything web related, the list goes on..

Too much new stuff at the same time would have only slowed me down. Perhaps i'll give it a whirl for the next fun-project (i've had this idea in my head to make a mancala game, i even already bought the domain name)

Not much functionality added, but transparently handling oauth refresh token works with rxjs. Phew! I've got it to work with promises, but since rxjs seems to be the new way to go, i wanted all my services to return Observables, not Promises.

rxjs is not an intuitive framework ... but with this out of the way, i can again focus on adding post/reply/edit

I feel you are going against the flow.
If you are using Angular you should be using promises and $q
my bad, I am looking into it and looks like you can integrate it quite easily
Everything I once knew now it is old...
It was the cool thing last year...
now it is all outdated...
RxJS is the new thing, darn you AngularJS 2

Promises is soooooo 2015 :)

But honestly, i think many people will dislike the fact that they are pushing rxjs. rxjs is probably very powerfull if you get the hang of it, but it has its learning curve and feels like overkill for simple tasks.

I mean you don't have to, you can still use promises.
But yeah, RxJS is the new thing.

I predict that AngularJS 2 will be a 2017 thing, for the mean time I will stick with Angular 1

@spoon - I don't like that text editor. It does not understand HTML, all of my messages will be broken. But it's nice.

Congrats, you found my signature.

Small update: been tackling technical stuff, and also posting/replying/editing messages now works, but only as basic text without images. Next step is deciding what way to go (medium, ubb, ...) and figuring out how to integrate uploaded images into the messages.

I use this

but I think you are using Angular 2.0 right? I don't know if it is backwards compatible
