inspiration alert!!!

I was thinking about what Spoon said about the spam thread filling up with 3D Art and figured it wouldn't be a bad idea to make a dedicated thread for things that currently inspire you and that you think are share-worthy. This could be 2D, 3D, Industrial Design, etc...

For a while now I've been obsessed with Andreas Wannerstedt's work which reminds me a lot of Alex Roman's "The Third and the Seventh".

I look forward to seeing what has been inspiring you lately!

More of a personal one for me, as it invokes a lot of confusing motivations for being where I am, but I don't think there isn't a week that goes by where my mind doesn't tune in to the memories of the backgrounds in FF7:

"I flew over Egypt once"

I've been re-reading Asimov's "Foundation" stories recently and they reminded me of some art books that I loved as a kid - the Terran Trade Authority manuals, full of huge hulking space craft from a distant future.

Though these paintings aren't directly inspirational to any projects I generally work on, they feed my imagination and give me a bit of escapism. I'd love to create some original sci-fi artwork when the time permits.

...I look at my own work a lot.

That, and the mirror.

Mostly the mirror...

Truthfully, I do the same. Only I prefer cupping my balls with one hand and pointing to the mirror with the other while slowly nodding my head.
