Hey guys, so as doing 3D is my dayjob now, I finally managed to get myself together and start learning what I have wanted to for loooong time.

I make this thread so you guys can see and comment my progress.

Soooo, dont laugh, my first ever try. Metal and stone material study.

Congrats, you found my signature.

I don't see the stone reflecting in the metal ;-)

The stone looks too round and the metal looks like a rock. :D

Hehehe, thanks guys. Here is what I've managed to do today. Well the result is better than expected, still far from good.

Learning basics is good. When you want to really push your abilities in color, perspective, etc. look around on youtube. There's tons on there.

Thanks guys. Photobucket was a bit bitchy so I wasnt able to upload what I wanted to.

At Monday we made a little pumpkin lantern fight with my GF. As you can see I've got obliterated.
Left is mine, right is Her's. 40 Mins each.

And tuesday while I've waited for my new task at work, i made this, under a little bit less than 2 hours.

And yeah, I watched some videos already, trying to catch the idea of them.

Today I'm pretty tired because I've got the best fucking task ever at my job. Not sure if I get my shit together tonight.

Congrats, you found my signature.

The pumpkin in the top right is good, they're stronger strokes, shows more confidence. Conversely, the landscape below (or above this post) is all wispy... I reckon you could do a stronger pass over the top and blend the colours less. I'd go waaaay more Van Gogh on it.
