MAX -> Unity -> VIVE = fun
show user profile  Dr. Jim
That is all.....been playing with learning basic Unity and the SteamVR scripts and such.
So far its a blast, and easy to bring stuff into Vive and teleport around...etc.
Plan is to learn basics, get through materials and all that...

My interest is just in exploring stuff from MAX....not interested in games or much interactivity..

Any Unity guys? Anybody else messing with this stuff?

Been planning on messing with this stuff.
I put in the vive scripts into Unity. That's about as far as I got :P
I like the Vive, though. It's nice.

I have a mate who's developing a VR game in Unity. He has a Vive setup and I played with it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I played a bit of "Budget Cuts" and Valve's game "The Lab". I was really impressed at how immersive it is. Lots of fun. I'm jealous.

I've been balls-deep learning Unity for a couple of weeks now, it is great to work with. I'd love to do VR but damn it's I think around 700gbp for the vive and oculus here.. Google and Unity have this interesting platform called Daydream which I think is in prototype form and might be a more accessible alternative..

Yeah, it's the cost that has stopped me from checking out VR. I'd love to get a Vive, but I'll have to wait until the prices come down for decent kit.
