So what is 9k working on? =)
show user profile  9krausec
Death to the "So what are you working on? =)" thread...

I'm doing an animation outside of work, but for work sort of... I got approved to post it hear since it's not official work work, but side work for work. Reason I'm doing this on my free-time is to help prove to the company here that 3D is something hip that should be invested in.

Usually I'm pulling a lever making on white renders and crying in the corner...

So, below is a playblast of the animation... I'm going to have app icons fly over shoulder left to gently land on the screen.. The whole thing will be pushed to frame left to make room for a featurette of each primary app. Will post more updates soon-

I want to match or exceed the quality in my previous render-

-DOF is not correct.. there is a glitch in the middle of it.. DOF will be done in post.

-Animation won't cut out abruptly like it does in the above... Just a playplast of the primary animation/motion.

Edit: Forgot I deleted the original playblast to update it with new one (one youtube). Above video is now updated. Will discuss the idea of what I'm going after once I get lighting set.

Thanks guys for the kind words! There is a chance I'll post an update later tonight. Had a long day of real estate photos yesterday and have loads of photos to process...

Took a bunch of a large distillery and winery which was neat.

Thanks for the replies on my previous post gang.

I've shifted gears into developing the Trig heavy tool I had in a previous post (officially moving it here to this thread).

Made some great progress on it. Now the position of the lights can be manually offset and actually stick to where you move them. I'll be doing this for the vertical Y axis as well today yet. Got pretty complicated for me as I am not a math wizard, but powered through and I got it working. Really excited for this as I think it's going to be a great production tool-

Thanks Digs! Next update I hope to be able to have most of everything done...

I want this to save out profiles to a .config file which will include things like-

texture (if any)
light positions
camera position (and camera internal information)
origin position

I also am going to end up making another object like my lights, but they will be lighting cards set with their own attributes.

So, have a few general profiles setup (3 point lighting, studio lighting) and then save out custom profiles that are used again and again. So. Good.

If by "sci-fi treadmill" you mean a piece of commercial fitness equipment that has been on the market and sold world-wide for years now, then yes, a sci-fi treadmill indeed.

I think it's more of an alternate universe treadmill, where people actually exercise in a whacky religion called The Whey, and worship the Almighty Bicep, a deity to whom they sacrifice tonnes of protein in large burning pyres.
