Viewport keeps showing polygons as triangles

My polygons are being displayed as triangles as shown in the image below. Is there a setting to show polys as quads?

Looks like your viewport rendering setting is set to facets.

It's set to default shading. The problem only shows up on non subdivided objects.

I was thinking of the viewport config dialog that you get by right-clicking on one of the navigation icons at the bottom right. It has a rendering method tab with a bunch of options.

I just switched from DX11 to nitrous DX9 and it seam to work fine.
